A Bathing Ape is expanding its BAPE STA line for Spring 2021. The seasonal assortment not only includes never-before-seen colorways of the iconic sneaker; it also features all-new silhouettes inspired by the original model.
In total, the Spring 2021 BAPE STA collection consists of 12 colorways. Multiple takes on the classic BAPE STA are present, alongside numerous iterations of the new models: the BAPE SK8 STA, BAPE STA 93 HI, BAPE COURT STA, and BAPE BLOCK STA HI.
Instead of merely providing you with a glimpse at each colorway, we’ve decided to rank the very best releases from the new spring BAPE STA lineup. The entire collection will be available at BAPE stores and online beginning February 6, with prices ranging from $289 to $319.
The “Black/Light Grey” BAPE STA 93 HI ($319) is detailed with faux croc skin, featuring a unique supporting side cage. BAPE’s signature logo brands the pair via embroidery on the heel, while a rubber badge with the number “93” emerges on the side.
For fans of the OG BAPE STA ($289), we suggest opting for the on-hand “White” colorway this spring. Soft suede and premium leather materials come together across the upper of the shoe, as a new sole has been implemented to make the silhouette a touch lighter.
We expect the BAPE SK8 STA ($289) to be a clear favorite among the new models. Our pick for Spring 2021 is the “Wheat/Red” rendition, with its STA logo demanding attention on the side. The upper is made from soft suede, paired with a gum outsole below. Adjustable lace holes and a rubber “93” badge complete the design.
The sharp color-blocking of the “Black Lime” BAPE BLOCK STA HI ($305) makes this colorway a must-have. The high-top silhouette comes with a Velcro strap at the collar to ensure you remain locked in, while a BAPE insignia and “93” badge serve as branding hits on the side and heel.
Once we saw the hot-pressed ABC camo pattern on the “Mist Grey/Royal Purple” BAPE COURT STA ($305), we knew it was the one. Sure, the color combo is great, but that classic BAPE motif is what puts it over the top. The low-top model boasts a suede upper, with a BAPE logo embroidered into the heel.
